“The exposure in the Rooms of the Archbishop's palace is thus devoted to the world Gipsy. We chose to place in its center the Gipsy From Arles most charismatic: Jose Reyes. The photographs of Lucien Clergue make it possible to leave the street Genive, in Arles to go throughout the world “payo” via the house of Charlie Chaplin, the Royal Albert Hall, or the edges of ponds camarguais. But beyond the photographs, association “Lucien Clergue in Country of Arles” chose to show how much the collections Lucien Clergue rich are diversified, and how much they are invaluable on this topic since the gipsies live the present and do not keep anything the past. Canut Reyes and association “the world of Jose Reyes” contributed a rare share that of the oral memory, photographs of Claude Meslin, like some contemporary objects. en savoir plus

Yesterday, May 1st, 2009, we went to withdraw the exposure of Lucien CLERGUE, organized by J.F. Dreuilhe: “gipsies and their prince, Jose REYES. Extraordinary testimony of our traditions, my father, our family, of our way of life. It's true that the talent of Lucien CLERGUE clarifies all these years to the children who became Gipsy Kings. I would like that this exposure travels in the world, like us; that each one can discover it in arts centres, foundations, museums or others. For those which that interests a project is in study with a photographic, video and musical part. To write intended for contact.
Born in Nice, my father traveled a lot in a caravan, to win his life, working as scrap metal, farm laborer, merchant... he always sang.
